ACTIVITIES:

This venue has a number of items we have access to and a good bit of it is included with your registration, here are some items will need to be rented as desired and can be reserved in advanced through the Newport Dunes Reservation System:

  • inflatable water park

  • paddle boards

  • kayaks

  • electric boats

FACILITIES:

On site facilities include full bathrooms+showers, marketplace, laundry, a restaurant etc

FOOD:

This is a "cook your food" camp unless you choose to use the restaurant /snack shack, drive to a nearby restaurant or have food delivered. As such, as a circle, you should plan your meals accordingly. (TBD Saturday Catered Dinner) We will, of course, have Midnight Meat on Saturday evening.

PARKING/LOADING:

Easy parking and paved paths to load/unload - Tent sites are on the sand steps away from the paved path!  You will park in the dirt/gravel lot. DO NOT park anywhere else, you will get towed. Then, get your wagons and take the camp gear down to the group camping area  By quick measurement, it's about 1500 feet from the parking lot to the camp site. Bring a wagon, the distance to unload from the Parking Lot to the camping area is fairly long, but paved.VIEW MAP

SUGGESTED PACKING LIST:

As always, check the weather.  Newport Beach in mid September should be 66-76 degrees.  The list here is typical for beach camping. Consider getting your gear on wheels, or bring a trailer for your bike:

  • Bike or scooter (fun and practical for distance)

  • Tent - fits any size (bring sand stakes)

  • Door mat & broom to keep the sand out

  • Chairs and Folding Tables

  • EZ Up and/or Umbrella

  • Beach Towels

  • Sunscreen

  • Air mattress/cots/sleeping pads

  • Sleeping Bags, pillows and blanket to keep you warm!

  • Lanterns, Flashlights, Headlamps

  • Cooler and drinks and snacks

  • Coffee Maker if you're a coffee snob

  • Water Bottles

  • Beach Clothes - hats, sunglasses, etc

  • Warmer Clothes/layers for Night

  • Snuggle buddy for the sons (and maybe the new dads)

  • Toiletries (for the benefit of others, remember your bath wipes and deodorant!)
