About the Adventure

IMPORTANT: 

  • RE-ENTRY IS ONLY PERMITTED FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONEL OR VETERANS. IF PLANNING ON RE-ENTRY, INFORM YOUR CIRCLE NAVIGATOR.

  • RV/TRAILERS PERMITTED WITH ADVANCED NOTICE: INFORM YOUR CIRCLE NAVIGATOR ASAP ($25/day dry, no hook-ups available)

DETAILS

  • ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE and RE-ENTRY: Arrive on Friday any time between 1PM & 7PM. Plan to enter through the Basilone Security Gate. This is an 8 minute drive from Camp. The actual site is San Onofre Camp Pendleton Campground, Beach Club Rd, San Clemente.  **** From I-5 take Basilone Rd Exit (Exit 71) and turn east and proceed to the gate. (You will need an ID card and sticker on the windshield helps.) Proceed about 1/2 mile past commissary/BX/gas station to Beach Club Road which is the first stop light. Turn right and follow into the campground. You will need to go past about 23 sites on the left and then turn left at the stop sign and go up the hill, following the road past the office. Our group spot will be at the far south east end. VIEW MAP  **** 

  • LOADING/UNLOADING & PARKING: Our cars pull up right to our camp site for unloading/loading and there is pleanty of spill over parking right next to it. Check out location screenshot, and this map

  • CAMPING LOCATION: Group tent sites "Beacon's" and"Old Man's" have been reserved so far. It is near an old ball field on grassy/dirt surfact. Another group has reserved 1 of the 4 sections available. There is a playground near by, and steps that go down to the beach. Water spigots are available. Power is limited, if available. NOTE: We will be next to train tracks, so it can get loud.

  • FOOD and BEVARAGE: No meals are provided for this campout. There may be charcoal grills on site, but access has yet to be confirmed. Coordinate food and beverage with your Circle!

  • ACTIVITIES: There will be a planned movie and expedition games. We have easy access to the beach (see screenshot), which has some of the best surfing in Southern California (bring your own gear). There are also hiking and bike trails, a large playground next to the camping area, and a large grass area.

  • FACILITIES: Porta potties will be on site. (No updates yet on access to showers/restrooms/laundry)

  • PACKING LIST: Pack water shoes, wet suit, bathing suits, tent, stakes, mat and all sleeping gear, long sleeve or jacket for knight, broom for sand, water toys, lawn games, food, beverages, battery back ups, lights. Coordinate shared items with your circle - Ez-Up, grill with fuel/charcoal, utencils, disposable plates, extra TP and wipes, toilitries, garbage bags. Friday:

  • Arrival 1-7PM

  • 6PM: Wood Delivery

  • 7:30PM: Expedition Movie

Saturday:

  • 9AM-Whenever: Free play... beach activities, etc.

  • 4PM:Expedition Games: Gaga Ball, Wheelbarrow race, and Beach Ball Toss

  • 7PM: Expedition Campfire, Skits, and Candyman

  • Reentry windows (Sat):  7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm
